Jarrod and Mark Anderson: Drawings and Sculpture

The fragmentation and spaces between things both literally and
metaphorically.

Using a shared sense of observation, Jarrod and Mark Anderson explore
fragmentation of the image and formalism, while using traditional
materials, placement and composition.

The intense observed realism of their images is mitigated by the
abstraction in the way they position the forms.  You sense both the
realism of the image and the formalist way it is displayed in almost the
same instance.  Both artists use observation.  In Jarrod's drawing only
direct observation is used.  Mark uses both observation and photographs
when he models his forms.

Their shared sense of tradition is evident.  Jarrod's observational
drawings are in graphite on painted paper and Mark's modeled, figurative
sculpture both utilize traditional tools and techniques.
