Jamie Jackson

I think photography is an amazing medium that can capture an entire story within a single frame. It only takes a second to capture an image but the story that image may tell can last for years. People inspire me; looking into someone’s eyes and to capture that moment of truth about their lives is an unbelievable feeling.

I never plan out my next shot. I allow the moment to be as real as possible. I travel to places that interest me and talk to the people I find there. I try to connect with each person that I photograph and I feel that connection shows in the pictures.

Documenting people is a difficult task. In the end, I hope the joy of the people that I met and their individual personalities show in my work.

Jamie Jackson is a free lance, award winning photographer from Tampa Florida. He has traveled to Rome, Tahiti, Croatia, India, Africa and across the USA.

He has been doing photography since 2000, taking various photo and darkroom classes at area Arts Centers.

In Tahiti and India, Jamie learned techniques from Steve McCurry. Steve shot the world famous National Geographic cover of the Afghan Girl with Green Eyes.
