C. EMERSON FINE ARTS TAKES YOUR INTO THEIR DREAMS AND SHOWS YOU AN UNEXPECTED VIEWPOINT
ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA - C. Emerson delves into the world of lucid dreaming. It is part of the ongoing program with the gallery to pose questions to an unlimited and international pool of artist. The responses to these metaphoric themes often come back with surprising results. The culminating exhibitions become less of a dictionary definition and more of a boundary pushing examination of the concept. This spring the conception of being aware you are dreaming is the subject of introspection. It is a question that has been investigated spiritually, psychologically and biologically for centuries. What do dreams mean? Can we really control the subject of these dreams? What are they a reaction to? Are they a sign of what is to come in our future? Do the symbols have specific meaning?
The same set of questions is often used when interpreting art. Why did the artist use that material? What is the meaning of the layers of imagery? What the message?
Lucid dreams is a group exhibit of nine artist from around the world:
Lucia Fischer,Teiji Hayam, Doreen Horn, Laszlo Horvath, Sonya Mcalister,
Gary MaCauley, Danny Olda, George Retkes, Henry Schreiber
The exhibition will feature illustration, mixed media, painting, photography and sculpture.
The opening reception for Lucid Dreams will be Friday April 8, 2011 from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M.
